Sunflowers Bring a Message of Hope to End Term One
In recent weeks, students at St. Michael’s College have received a special gift to take home — a small sunflower seedling, shared as a symbol of growth, hope and connection as the College community approaches Easter and the end of Term One.
The gesture has a special meaning for the 2026 Year 6 cohort, many of whom were in Prep when sunflower seedlings were delivered to families during COVID as a reminder of connection and belonging. In recent weeks, those same students have helped share that message once again across the College community.
Now in their final year of primary school, these same students have helped share that message with others, passing on sunflower seedlings across the College as a symbol for the community in 2026.
Further, as sunflowers turn to the light, they reflect the hope of Easter and the new life that comes with growth, renewal and strong connections.
This small gift reminds us that, just like a sunflower, children flourish when they are nurtured with care, encouragement and a strong sense of belonging within a connected College community.
