Years 5 - 6 (Senior Leaders)

Years Five and Six represent a distinctive phase at St. Michael's College, where our oldest primary students are recognised as the current and upcoming Leaders of St. Michael’s College. With this leadership status comes an explicit focus on high-level independence, responsibility, and peer role-modelling. Our Senior primary students wear a distinct school uniform and are supported in exploring their unique leadership potential through authentic, student-led initiatives and community service. This phase forms a vital, intentional transition pathway between Primary and Secondary schooling.

Academically, Years Five and Six students benefit from our state-of-the-art 1:1 ChromeBook program, utilising digital technology to enhance critical thinking, collaboration, and advanced research. Our academic framework continues to prioritise the management of cognitive load as students prepare for and submit larger, more complex assessment pieces. Driven by regular universal screening and data-informed tracking, instruction features targeted Tier 2 interventions and extension groups designed to challenge every learner. This capstone journey culminates at the end of Year Six with a meaningful, candlelit graduation service and celebration, honouring our students' growth, wisdom, and leadership at St. Michael's College.
