Year 6 Canberra Camp

At the end of Term 2, our Year 6 students went on their annual camp to Canberra, Sydney and the snow. As with all camps, this camp is fully covered by College fees, however, wereceive a small subsidy through the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER). After a short plane journey, and a full day of activities including visits to the National Gallery of Australia and the Australian Institute of Sport, we arrived at Canberra Park Resort in time for dinner.

Day two was a highlight of the trip with a full day at Smiggins Holes, a village in the ski resort area of Snowy Mountains for a fun time in the snow.

the next three days consisted of an action-packed itinerary where the Year 6 students visited...

Questacon - The National Science and Technology Centre, provided an enriching, inspirational and engaging experience for the students. They had so much fun with the hands-on science. The visit to Questacon combined fun with the opportunity to gain insights into the world of science and technology.

At the National Zoo and Aquarium we got the opportunity to hand feed some of the animals and even got to hold a snake.

Parliament House was very informative. The PEO role-play gave students the opportunity to experience what it's like to be a member of parliament or an officer working in the federal Parliament.

It is fair to say that all students had unforgettable experiences during the Camp and slept well on the plane flight home.
